Industrial Chemistry Division - Services...

The services provided by the Industrial Chemistry Division utilise the entire range of laboratory facilities and expertise available within GEOTECH. Much of the work performed by this division is not available from other commercial laboratories in Western Australia.

The number of different sample types which the Industrial Chemistry Division has encountered is extensive and continues to grow in line with GEOTECH’s reputation for flexibility, resourcefulness and customer services. A summary of the more common types of work performed by this division is as follows:

  Analysis and testing of all liquid fuel types including fuel, oil, distillate,         condensate, gasoline and biomass oil
  Analysis of a wide range of inorganic and organic materials
  APVMA pesticide analysis (active content and product stability)
  Australian standard conformity testing for diesel fuel and petrol
  Analysis of deposits, sludges and residues
  Assessment of fuel condition, stability and compatibility
  Aviation and military fuel testing
  Chemical and physical product testing for marine surveying
  Corrosion investigation
  Compositional analyses of fuel and fuel blends (identification and         characterisation by GC/GC-MS)
  Evaluation of reclaimed/reprocessed oil and fuel
  Fuel shipment quality assurance
  Identification and characterisation of fuels and crude oils by GC/GC-MS
  Metal analysis
  Material failure analysis
  Material testing for insurance, litigation and loss adjustment
  Measurement and identification of contaminants in fuel
  Process troubleshooting
