GEOTECH's Background
Geotechnical Services Pty Ltd began as a specialised
petroleum exploration service company, set up by a management buy-out
in March 1991 of the Oil and Gas division of Analabs (a subsidiary of
the international Inchcape Group). The acquisition of Spectrotech Laboratories
in 1992 enabled GEOTECH to expand its range of services
to include Condition Monitoring.
GEOTECH has built a strong and commercially viable business
since it was established and has continued to grow since 1991. The company
dominates petroleum geochemistry service work in Australia and has a considerable
client base in all its areas of expertise. The Condition Monitoring Division
has been developed into a major provider in the areas of fuel and lubricant
analysis and the Industrial Chemistry group offers chemical problem solving
and consulting. The Environmental Division has grown into a very significant
provider of routine and specialised environmental analyses. It is one
of two main providers of VOC analyses in Australia and a major supplier
of ecotoxicology services.
GEOTECH has a policy of carefully selecting new recruits,
with staff being chosen on the basis of expertise, experience and excellence.
This is demonstrated by the depth of qualified personnel within the company,
with virtually all technical staff (technicians through to Divisional
Managers) having formal tertiary qualifications and many years of experience
in their analytical fields.
